Dr. Mariëlle Hoefnagels published a new nonmajors biology textbook early in 2012. The new book, titled Biology: The Essentials is published by McGraw-Hill. The Essentials book is Dr. Hoefnagels’s second single-author textbook; the first, Biology: Concepts and Investigations, won McGraw-Hill’s First Edition of the Year award for Science, Engineering, and Math when it was published in 2009. Dr. Hoefnagels is currently working on the third edition of the Concepts book.
