The following is our Department’s plan to communicate information rapidly to people within our facilities.
If you observe a fire or detect smoke, trigger the fire alarm. If you encounter an emergency situation that requires paramedics or police, please contact the appropriate authorities (911), then contact one of the following people in the main office: Gordon Uno (5-6281), Tammy Brushwood (5-1644), Adell Hopper (5-4322), Bill Keller (5-2481), and Debbie Meacham (5-4321).
During Office Hours
Once personnel in the Main Office are made aware of an emergency situation requiring everyone in the building to respond, the following will occur:
Tammy (or available staff) will call the faculty will then notify their floor’s classrooms/students as needed. Debbie will call the staff (including Greenhouse/Cal, EM Lab, and Stephenson RTC)Debbie will notify classrooms on the first floor. Adell will call the graduate assistants. If one or more office staff are not available, faculty will be called first, then staff, then GAs by whomever office staff is available. Tammy will also send an email, as soon as calls are made.
Non-Office Hours
If you observe a fire or detect smoke, trigger the fire alarm. If you encounter an emergency situation that requires paramedics or police, please contact the appropriate authorities (911). Then, contact Dr. Uno or Tammy via phone. If you observe any other problems with the building that require immediate attention (e.g., water leaks, heating or cooling issues, damage to the building, unlocked doors), please contact Facilities Management at 5-3060 and report the problem to them first. Then, contact Dr. Uno, Tammy Brushwood or Bill Keller to make them aware of the situation.
